Research: semi- and subanalytic geometry, real algebraic geometry, analytic geometry, singularity theory, model theory, o-minimal structures.

The Department's staff co-operate with research centres in Chambéry, Marseille , Lille, Pisa, Rennes, Toronto, Trento.

The Department co-organises Gdańsk-Krakow-Warsaw seminar on singularity theory.

Currently the Department runs the Prof. Wiesław Pawłucki's grant and the Polonium program in cooperation with the University of Provence in Marseille.
